What’s your favorite companion? If you answered a dog, then you are reading the correct article! There are over 202 different dog breeds, but today we’re only going to give a few examples: The Chow Chow, Xiasi and the Pekingese – all originating from China.
Chow Chow
Chows are powerful and sturdy dogs. They look a bit like a lion near the head and shoulders. The Chow Chow has a blue/black tongue and their eyes are almost covered by their fur. This dog breed can have either rough or smooth fur of red, black, blue, cinnamon, or cream colors.
Xiasi Dog
The Xiasi dogs originated specifically from the Guizhou province of China. The Xiasi breeds are beautiful, muscular lean dogs. They have brown eyes and white or creamish fur. The Xiasi dog breeds have short/medium length fur that has the potential to develop knots. To maintain a Xiasi dog, you should brush the dog’s hair weekly using a pin brush, a sticker brush, or a deshedder.
Pekingese
The final dog breed that I will talk about is the Pekingese. You may think that these dogs are small, however they are amazingly heavy due to their long silky hair which requires lots of maintenance. They have a very small face and even smaller nose! These dogs perform well on dog shows due to their quick learning skills. They love the cold temperatures and walk in a very cute way which could be seen as a model walking on a red carpet! They are very loyal and could make good guard dogs as far as their bark goes.
Dogs in General
Pursuing this further, we are going to talk about dogs and how they are so devoted to their owners. Dogs love to play with toys and do tricks and most breeds are very good family dogs. Many dogs like the Chow Chow are great with kids and love babies. Some people even treat their dog like a human. For example, they will buy jackets for their dog, cook its meals, and more.
Dogs are all different sizes. There are big dogs such as the Great Dane and small sized dogs such as Chihuahuas. There are dogs so small they can fit in a mug! Dogs have excellent learning skills which allow them to develop talents. Some dogs are trained specifically to help their owners, these are called guide dogs. They can take treats in return for opening the mailbox, guiding a person through a door and more!
Best of all, they listen to what the owner needs which is why I love dogs so much. They are truly the most devoted and delightful pets. I and many other dog lovers, love dogs because they are kind, loving animals that listen to their owners’ needs. So next time you visit the pet store or animal shelter remember what you want your friendly companion to be.
