Celebrate Literacy Week (Building Literacy) is a chance for any FLVS student, grades K-12, to learn and have fun with their fellow book lovers. With a packed calendar of fun Zoom meetings and a reading challenge where FLVS Flex and FLVS Full Time students will compete to see who can read the most minutes, there’s something for everyone. If you are an FLVS student who loves the art of literature, take the opportunity to learn and participate right here at your fingertips on FLVS.net. Maybe you’ll cuddle up with a beautiful poem, read about a dangerous dragon slayer, or dive into a classic nonfiction novel.
Calling all FLVS elementary students! On Monday, Jan. 27 at 10:30 a.m., Literacy Week starts with a “Reading Under Construction” meeting open to any elementary FLVS students. Also on Jan. 27, there will be a meeting for all high school students looking to be career-ready and learn how to build their high school resume. That’s not all this week has to offer either. At FLVS Family Literacy, there is a full interactive calendar for all those who are interested. With all this fun, we can’t forget about the FLVS Flex vs. Full Time reading challenge. Will you participate and try to earn the title of “Most Minutes Read”? A form to keep track of your minutes is included in the Celebrate Literacy Week calendar.
With the motto of this Literacy Week being “Construct the Foundation for Success,” show your success in literacy with this week’s events and challenges. Bring your graphic novels, chapter books, nonfiction, and fiction books to celebrate learning and all things literacy!
