Due to Covid-19, we are all forced to stay at home as much as possible, and, with that, we all have to adjust to new norms. Now I understand how hard it can be to change and adjust yourself to a new environment and new habits, and most of us may need some stress relief. Some things to relieve my stress include taking care of myself and wellbeing, so I thought I would share some of my new habits with you that help with that! I present to you, self-care!
Sunbathing
Sunbathing has been proven to increase the serotonin in your brain and it also has been proven to help people with anxiety and depression. Doing this every morning for about twenty minutes can help you start a positive day and it can also help you get more sun with all of the current indoor activities we now have to participate in.
Rearrange your home or bedroom
Rearranging my bedroom has been something that relieves my stress. With being in my bedroom more often than usual, the setting can get a bit bland and boring. So, changing things or adding things here and there around you and your environment can actually be relaxing and can make you work more efficiently.
Draw or color
I find that drawing or coloring relieves stress. I went ahead and bought myself an adult coloring book and every detail you had to color in was so intricate. So while coloring this in, I felt myself becoming more and more creative while also thinking a lot about what was on my mind. It helped me become more calm and extra happy.
Watch a movie or show that makes you laugh
Personally, this is one of my favorite ways to self-care! On a daily basis you can catch me watching my favorite shows or movies over and over again just because I love them! This just helps me wind down and relax without having to think too much about what I’m doing. I strongly suggest doing this if you’re feeling overwhelmed since it is just a great pastime.
Find some new music
Now don’t get me wrong, for me, I am the type of person to listen to the same songs over and over again, but adding and listening to some new music can help you extend and spice up your playlist. Also, this can help you wind down on an exhausting day. Trust me, one day when there is just a little bit too much going on in your life, music can help so much! Don’t be afraid to get into something you wouldn’t normally listen to.
Bake something yummy
Baking is an awesome way to end the day! One, you get to work on something that keeps you busy and occupied, and two, you will be making something that you will be proud of and something that will be rewarding in the end. Also, there are so many delicious baked goods to make!

Another great way to unwind is to read a good book because it can transport you to a different world!
