This year Florida Virtual School has brought a great surprise to the table by offering five new courses! These courses can spark new interests in American Sign Language, agriscience, meteorology, environmental science and computer & network security. American Sign Language 2
Following American Sign Language 1, this course will strengthen your ability to interpret and communicate using a visible language commonly known as sign language. This great course consists of two segments, each with three modules. Along with adding another language to your resume, this class also touches on the Deaf culture.

Featuring the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, students will dig deeper into earth’s natural cycle and how human activities determine the future of most life on Earth! Don’t miss out on this class, for it will also give you a preview of some of the FLVS Biology course topics and future career options for those interested in Environmental science.

This course covers the chemical and physical elements of earth that cause weather and climate! It also illuminates the tools used to predict future weather based on earth’s weather fluctuation patterns. This wonderful information is packed into two segments consisting of nine modules in total. This course is a great way to get your science credit in or to see if you’re destined as a meteorologist!

Agriscience Foundations 1
This course will immerse you in agricultural topics ranging from farming impacts, to the deep rich history of agriculture. This course will also show you all the different career paths you could take involving agriscience! You can get one step closer to your career in science in two segments, each consisting of three modules.

Computer and Network Security Fundamentals
Have you ever been interested in your personal computer network’s safety? Then this course is for you! It will not only teach students network security, but also how to practice computer safety and how to prevent digital attacks. Students will also cover numerous employment opportunities in one of the most quickly flourishing industries, cyber security. This information is all taught in two segments, each with three modules!
