Scholarship Opportunities for Students in 2021

Whether you’re still in middle school or high school, the need for scholarships will inevitably find its way to you. For ease in search, here are a few scholarship contests open for students. 

“Think For Yourself” College Scholarship Essay Contest

Let Grow’s “Think For Yourself” college scholarship essay contest rewards $8,000 in rewards, with a first place winner receiving $5,000 and runner ups each receiving $1,000. Applicants are given a selection of prompts regarding free speech, opinions, and personal experiences.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be at least thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application, be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, be currently in middle or high school, and must enroll no later than the fall of 2026 in a post-secondary institution of higher education (2 or 4 year college or university, trade school, online or vocational school program).

DEADLINE: Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm Eastern Time, April 30, 2021.

Unigo “All About Education” Scholarship

Unigo’s “All About Education” scholarship admits that the idea of paying for college tuition and applying for scholarships can be hard. Thus, they ask students to answer the prompt: “How will a $3,000 scholarship for education make a difference in your life?” The student to win the contest will receive a $3,000 dollar scholarship. 

ELIGIBILITY: This award is for U.S. students.| Must be a legal U.S. resident.| Must reside in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.| Must be 14 years of age or older to apply.

DEADLINE: All submissions must be received by April 30th, 2021, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Ocean Awareness Student Contest

Bow Seat’s “Ocean Awareness” scholarship contest encourages students to creatively communicate the need to protect water and exemplify how it’s a vital source. With five given prompts, students are allowed to use the following forms of art: visual art, creative writing, film, interactive & multimedia, performing arts, and poetry & spoken words. 

ELIGIBILITY: This is an international Contest and is open to students ages 11-18 who are enrolled in middle school or high school (or the homeschool equivalent) worldwide. Proof of age, identity, or eligibility may be required.

DEADLINE: All submissions must be received by June 14, 2021, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time (ET) to be considered in the 2021 Ocean Awareness Contest. The online platform will close automatically at the Contest deadline. Please plan accordingly!

Unigo $10K Scholarship Contest

ELIGIBILITY: This award is for U.S. students.| Must be a legal U.S. resident.| Must reside in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.| Must be 14 years of age or older to apply.
